Structure & Function

Structure and function: Describe how the organization is structured and how it functions on a day-to-day basis.

We have a six-member board at this time. Prairie Skyline Foundation is a non-profit public charity organized under 501 © (3). See Articles of Incorporation, By-Laws, and IRS letter

Daily activities include: gathering photos and stories, facts and figures, for the historic buildings in Crookston Minnesota. Giving walking tours. Paying bills, answering the phone, archiving records, and calling on people for donations are some of the daily activities. We produce a newsletter which will soon be online.

Daily activities are handled by Kay Hegge, Secretary-Treasurer of the Board runs, “Kay’s Attic,” in the commercial space of the Union Building for the past three years. See resume at www.kaysattic.com. Plans are to change it to a thrift shop that benefits Prairie Skyline Foundation since the downturn in the economy.

Monthly board meetings open to the public are called by the President, Brian Carlson, of JLG Architects, Grand Forks, North Dakota.

A yearly Annual Meeting is held in May in which an event is planned and the public invited.
